Burnard Gardens is situated in the Reikorangi Valley, 3kms from Waikanae on the Kapiti Coast and one hour's drive north from Wellington on SH1.

The garden was started in 1986 by Mary & Robert Burnard. It has been created in stages since then with the final garden, the Spring Garden and a catering pavilion, completed in the year 2000.

Weddings
The garden has been the venue for wedding ceremonies since it first opened to the public in 1990 and for the past 10 years has catered forwedding receptions as well but, from 2009 onwards we have decided to have only wedding ceremonies in the garden - not receptions.

The garden is open for wedding ceremonies from mid-September to the end of March.
